Slight change this week with the formatting of these updates, the majority of the content will focus on new feature announcements, with updates to previous announcements contained to their own section with reference URLs for more information. This streamlines the information contained here as there is no need to repeat the full update in subsequent weeks when the only change is the deployment timeline.
When Microsoft announced their intention to allow self service licensing for the Power Platform there was plenty of push back from administrators who were concerned with lack of control of Microsoft 365 licensing components. This update is no longer going to proceed in it’s current format, additional work will be completed to update how this process will work, no doubt they shall consult with organisations to better understand their requirements. Further announcements will be made public when more details are known.
Microsoft Teams meeting lobby rollout is delayed, if you’re organisation doesn’t have this feature yet then you may need to wait until end of July for this to be enabled. I’m a fan of enabling this feature as it assists to control external meeting participants joining a meeting.
Microsoft To-Do is a great application for keeping yourself organised, if you haven’t seen it yet then you should go to Microsoft To Do and have a look. A new feature dropping by mid-July allows sharing of personal to-do lists with enterprise accounts.

In September, we expect iOS 14 to be released by Apple. Intune enrollment and the Company Portal will move to support iOS 12 and higher shortly after iOS 14’s release.
How this will affect your organization
This will only affect you if you currently manage, or plan to manage iOS devices. This may not impact you because your end users have likely already upgraded their OS devices. However, starting in July, MDM enrolled devices with iOS 11 and the Company Portal will receive a prompt to upgrade their OS. If you use Application Protection Policies (APP) you can also set the “Require minimum iOS operating system (Warning only)” access setting.
